Holiday cottages

Walkers Halt in Boulby in North York Moors National Park is on the coast
When getting away to visit the many attractions we have in the UK, you're going to need somewhere to stay. And what better place to holiday than a self-catering holiday cottage. I hand-pick an area every week (well, most weeks, occasionally I'll take a week off). And in that area I'll give an example of a cottage you can book. Some large holiday cottages get a mention; and some small holiday cottages get a mention. Any-hoo, I hope you find something which takes your fancy.

Lodges

Drummohr Holiday Park in Musselburgh, East Lothian, are hot tub holiday lodges
A self-catering lodge could be the way you want to go. Much like a holiday cottage, the lodges are self-catering, and make a good base to see the surrounding area - one of the biggest differences is that generally lodges come as a collection. Rather than being just one cottage, you'll have a small cluster of lodges.

Villas

Villa Monte Verde Amarillo in Javea, Costa Blanca, sleeps 6 people
If you want to leave the shores of the UK, and head off to a sunnier climate, you might well want to take a holiday in a holiday villa. To this end we occasionally pick a holiday villa which may well float your boat. The latest villa to get my attention can be seen in the photo.
